Ukraine looks for alternatives to Russian gas (Video)
Ukrainian PM Atseniy Yatseniuk says that Ukraine has enough gas reserves to keep the country’s houses warm through winter, but the situation remains difficult.
In late October, an agreement with Russian state-owned Gazprom was signed as a temporary measure to cover the winter months, but Gazprom is now demanding pre-payment as a condition for resuming deliveries.
Now, according to Yatseniuk, Ukraine will work on increasing reverse flow gas deliveries from the EU and look for alternative resources of energy supply
Earlier this month, Slovakia reassured Ukrainian officials that it would deliver reverse flow natural gas to Ukraine.
