Akhmetov becomes only Ukrainian native in Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking
Ukrainian tycoon Rinat Akhmetov, the owner of the SCM financial and industrial group, has become the only representative of Ukraine in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking of the world's richest people.
He ranked 307th with the fortune estimated at $5.71 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Akhmetov has recently lost $13.8 million. Yet, over the year, his fortune increased by $994 million.
Jeff Bezos, the founder and largest shareholder of Amazon, has become the richest man in history.
His fortune net worth rose to $150 billion on the morning of July 16, which is approximately $55 billion up from the fortune of co-founder of Microsoft Corp. Bill Gates, who ranked second.
It is noted that 54-year-old Bezos has left Gates behind in inflation adjusted conditions. At the same time, he became the richest man in modern history.
The rating entry threshold is $3.9 billion.
