Ukraine ‘has to make significant changes to its budget’ to secure IMF loan
The new International Monetary Fund credit program for Ukraine envisages significant changes to the current budget that have to be made by February 15, Finance Minister Natalia Jaresko said ahead of a government meeting on Wednesday.
"Part of [the negotiations with the IMF] are changes to the budget that we have to make. There are minor and major changes. As soon as changes to the budget are made, everything will be made public,” Jaresko told reporters.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine expects to receive the first tranche under a new cooperation program with its key creditor - the International Monetary Fund - in March of this year.
The IMF mission in Ukraine has been working in the country since January 8.
