Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has attended an official event to launch the first phase of DTEK Renewables' Prymorska wind power plant in Zaporizhia region, according to the presidential administration.

"The launch of the Prymorska wind farm is not a local event, but a very important event for the entire country. It is through such projects that we turn Ukraine into a regional leader," he said on February 27.
The president says such projects demonstrate that investors trust Ukraine, believe in its prospects, and are willing to inject funds into the country.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the main incentive of renewable energy generation in Ukraine is the so-called "green," or feed-in tariff, which is higher than other power rates.
UNIAN memo. The total capacity of the Prymorska wind farm is expected to be 200 MW.
The commissioning of two phases of the wind farm (100 MW each) is scheduled before 2020.
General Electric will deliver, install and provide maintenance of 3MW wind turbines for the Prymorska wind farm, which will annually produce 650-700 million kWh of "green" electricity.
DTEK Renewables is a holding company consolidating DTEK's assets in renewable energy. The company's portfolio of projects includes the operating Botievo wind farm (200 MW), Tryfanovska solar power plant (10 MW). Two more projects are under construction, namely Nikopol solar power plant (100 MW) and the first stage of the Prymorska wind farm (100 MW). The company plans to increase its portfolio of projects almost five times by 2020, up to 1 GW.
DTEK is a part of the financial and industrial group System Capital Management (SCM). The shareholder of the group is businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
