Diversification and the gas market really yield results," Kobolev wrote, adding  he had received numerous questions from different people, asking what would happen if Ukraine's gas supplies were cut off by the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that Ukraine had no plans to buy additional volumes of gas from Russia for the heating season, because the existing stocks of 16.5 billion cubic meters would be sufficient given the current favorable weather and reduction in gas consumption by an average of 17 -19%.
