Ukraine in talks with Turkey over free trade in wake of Moscow-Ankara freeze
Ukraine is in the process of agreeing terms with Turkey on a free trade zone, according to the Eastern European nations' deputy minister for economic development, Ukraine Today reports.
A wide range of areas of cooperation was reportedly discussed at a meeting between delegations of the two nations; everything from metal and grain exports to joint television productions, according to Ukraine Today.
Negotiations over the free trade area are scheduled to continue at the beginning of next year in Turkey.
The uptick in relations between Kyiv and Ankara comes in the wake of a freeze in ties between Russia and Turkey following the downing of the Russian Su-24 bomber at the Turkish-Syroan border by Turkey’s Air Force for airspace violations.
