Ukraine sees agricultural production grow since year's start

Agri-businesses increased production by 3.9% for the reporting period.

Agricultural production in Ukraine grew by 2% in January-August 2018 year-over-year.

In particular, agricultural enterprises increased production by 3.9% for the reporting period, while private farmers saw a 0.3% increase, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.

Crop production in the eight months of this year rose by 3.2% compared to January-August last year. Agricultural enterprises saw a 4.8% rise in crop production, while private farmers boosted output by 1.8%.

At the same time, production of livestock products in January-August 2018 fell by 0.1%. While agri-businesses boosted animal production by 2.3%, private farmers saw a 3.2% decrease.

The reports does not include data from Russian-occupied areas, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, the decline in agricultural production in Ukraine in 2017 was 2.7% compared to 2016. In particular, agricultural enterprises reduced production by 3.9%, while households saw a 1.2% decline.
