Ukraine's statistics agency revises upwards estimate of GDP growth to 3.8% in Q2

Ukraine's GDP in annual terms is growing for the tenth consecutive quarter, with growth accelerating for the third consecutive quarter.

The State Statistics Service of Ukraine revised upwards its estimate of Ukraine's real GDP growth in the second quarter of 2018 (Q2) from 3.6% to 3.8% year-over-year (y-o-y).

The Service also revised upwards its estimate of the country's GDP growth in Q2 2018 against Q1 2018 from 0.9% to 1%, taking into account the seasonal factor, according to the operative data released on the agency's website in August.

The nominal GDP in Q2 was estimated at UAH 807.3 billion (US$28.7 billion), while GDP per person stood at UAH 19,074 ($678).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine retained its estimate of Ukraine's real GDP growth in Q1 2018 at 3.1% y-o-y, and at 0.9% against Q4 2017, taking into account the seasonal factor.

The National Bank forecasts a 3.4% GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018 amid 8.9% inflation.

The Ukrainian government expects economic growth in 2018 at 3.2% amid 9% inflation.

Ukraine's key lender, the International Monetary Fund, forecasts a 3.2% GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018 amid 11% inflation, while the World Bank predicts a 3.5% increase amid 10% inflation.
