Ukraine boosts crude oil imports in eight months

Crude oil imports over the period under review totaled 522,600 tonnes.

Ukraine in January-August 2018 imported crude oil and gas condensate to the tune of US$288.7 million, which was 12.9% up year-over-year.

In total, 522,600 tonnes of crude oil and gas condensate was imported in the eight months, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has said.

The largest supplier was Azerbaijan (94.9%), which shipped crude oil worth US$274 million. Crude oil shipments from Algeria, which accounted for 2.49% of crude oil supplies to Ukraine, totaled US$7.176 million, shipments from Iran (1.76%) amounted to US$5.094 million. Other countries sold crude oil worth US$2.45 million to Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine in 2017 imported crude oil and gas condensate worth US$442.2 million, which was 2.5 times more than in 2016. The largest batches of crude oil came from Azerbaijan (85.2%, US$376.8 million), Iran (8.5%, US$37.7 million), Kazakhstan (3.9%, US$17.5 million). Crude oil supplies from other countries were estimated at US$10 million.
