Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says Ukraine's draft budget for 2019 provides for a UAH 139 billion (US$4.9 billion) increase in the financing of pension payments.

"You talk about a minimum pension, but you don't say that indexation of pensions will be carried out from March 1. To this end, the budget stipulates another UAH 139 billion for pensions and UAH 27 billion to pay pensions to servicemen," he said in the parliament on September 21.

As UNIAN reported, the prime minister earlier instructed to conduct an official investigation against the head of the Pension Fund, as well as its managers in the regions, concerning the delay in the payment of pensions in July.

The Fund explained the delay by cash gaps in the receipt of the single social security tax.

In August, there was no delay in the payment of pensions, as UAH 29.7 billion ($1 billion) was allocated to this end.
