Ukraine reduced sunflower oil production by 17.5% in January-August 2018 year-over-year, to 2.8 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has said.
In August 2018 alone, Ukraine refined 83,600 tonnes of sunflower oil, which was 57.9% down from July 2018 and 51.3% down from August 2017.
Production of margarine in January-August this year fell by 2.2% compared to the same period in 2017, to 86,200 tonnes. In August alone, margarine output decreased by 41.4% from July 2018 and by 6.3% from August 2017, to 6,200 tonnes.

The statistical report does not include data from the Russian-occupied areas in Ukraine, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
As UNIAN reported, the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine in 2017 totaled 5.21 million tonnes, which was 17% more than in 2016.
