"Last week was too busy that I did not even manage to write about the results of my trip to Germany. And they are good enough. I had a meeting with Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier – we discussed many important aspects of further bilateral cooperation. Extensive talks were held with the economy and transport ministries. The German side is considering the possibility of allocating funds for the construction of a highway in eastern Ukraine. It is likely to be a highway between Mariupol and Zaporizhia, which will be Ukraine's first real autobahn to be built in line with the EU standards," the minister wrote on Facebook on September 24.

Omelyan also asked his German partners to consider the possibility of targeted assistance to the town of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region to rebuild and develop infrastructure and facilities.

The official noted that at the InnoTrans 2018 International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, held on September 18-21, he had talks with counterparts from the European Union and representatives of some foreign companies.

In addition, Omelyan announced his visit to the United States.

"Two days of talks in Washington, D.C., with friends from the Department of State, the Departments of Transportation and Commerce, USAID [U.S. Agency for International Development], and other agencies. I'm starting a 'trip to a multistoried America': Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. Meetings with CEOs of ports and airports, presentations at two conferences, as well as negotiations with businesses are planned to convince them that Ukraine is the best place for investment. Such giants as Cargill, Bunge, and GE know this. It's time for others to learn about this," the minister added.
