"We have received a letter with good news from the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine about the rules for using the airspace by drones. The Ante law firm prepared and sent proposals to the Administration, the Defense Ministry, and the Ministry of Justice, which have been taken into account almost completely," he wrote on Facebook on September 25.

According to Guck, drones weighing up to 20 kg will be allowed to fly at a height of up to 120 m in controlled airspace without submitting relevant applications.

At the same time, the range of flights within visual line of sight (VLOS) will be unlimited.

Moreover, the local authorities will not be allowed to restrict drone flights.

Guck says that the Ministry of Justice has registered the rules and they will be published soon.

At the same time, it is forbidden to fly drones over crowds of people in free space and over densely built-up areas without prior approval.

The previous version of the rules for the use of Ukraine's airspace prohibits flights of drones weighing more than 2 (two) kg without approval.

Guck also says the rules for the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles are needed to be drawn up in future.

According to the current rules, drones cannot be raised above 50 m, fly over roads, power lines, crowds, state institutions, private estates. If the conditions are not met, an application for prior approval should be submitted no later than 10 days before the flight.
