Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's underground storage facilities (USFs) have shrank by 0.2%, or by 30.1 million cubic meters (mcm), to 17.165 billion cubic meters (bcm) since November 7, when Ukraine started withdrawal of gas from its stocks.

As of November 10, 2018, gas reserves in the country's USFs were estimated at 17.165 bcm, which was 2.6% up from 16.74 bcm reported on November 10, 2017, the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz said.

Average daily gas withdrawal on November 7-10 amounted to 7.59 mcm, the report said.

Since early November 2018, Ukrainian gas imports totaled 339.27 mcm, including 198.1 mcm via Slovakia, 111.1 mcm via Hungary, and 30 mcm via Poland.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on November 7, 2018, Ukraine stopped injecting gas into underground storage facilities and began pumping it out to ensure the smooth heating season.

Ukraine, by the start of the 2018-2019 heating season, had accumulated record high natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities over the past six years.

UNIAN memo. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 underground gas storages (USFs) with a total storage capacity of about 31 bcm. The USFs are an integral part of Ukraine's gas supply system and gas transit through its territory. The company is also the operator of the main gas pipelines, through which natural gas is exported from the Russian Federation to the EU countries. Ukrtransgaz is wholly owned by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
