Chairman of the Board of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine, Andriy Kobolyev, says one of the main tasks of Naftogaz is to start working with end consumers of gas, rather than with intermediaries of gas supplies.
"Naftogaz should finally start working with end consumers, that is households who consume gas," he said at the forum, titled "Conductors of Changes" held on November 13.
According to Kobolyev, had such a format been approved earlier, today a number of cities would have had no problems with the start of the heating season due to the debts of the heat generating companies.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 22, Naftogaz called on Ukraine's government to solve the problem of multibillion-dollar non-payments for gas by regional gas distribution companies, most of which belong to Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash.
At the same time, Naftogaz CCO Yuriy Vitrenko said then that Naftogaz would lose UAH 12.2 billion ($437.4 million) because of the existence of regional gas companies.
NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine created three subsidiaries for supplying gas directly to the industry, municipal heating companies and households in circumvention of regional gas distribution companies, most of which belong to Firtash.
Naftogaz of Ukraine GSC (Gas Supply Company) will supply gas to households, Naftogaz Heat GSC will deliver gas to local heat suppliers, and Naftogaz Trading GSC to commercial customers.
