Chairman of the Board of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine, Andriy Kobolyev, says law enforcement agencies have opened dozens of criminal cases against him.

"I've lost count. I won't mention the number [of criminal cases], but I have a thick folder with dozens of them," he said at the forum "Conductors of Changes" held on November 13.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Naftogaz Supervisory Board decided to pay $46.3 million in bonuses to its managers following the victory in a gas dispute at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce with Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom over a transit contract.

Taking into account the arbitration decision under the gas transit contract, Gazprom must pay a total of $2.6 billion to Naftogaz.

The bonuses were divided into two disbursements. In May 2018, the first part amounting to $20.7 million was paid out. The sum accounts for to 1% of the win already stipulated in the Naftogaz financial statements for 2017.

The remaining bonus part will be paid within three years solely on condition that the Gazprom debt is successfully recovered.

In early June, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman appealed to the Supervisory Board of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine to review the recent decision to pay $46.3 million in bonuses to its management due to the company's victory over Russia's Gazprom in the Stockholm Arbitration.

On September 25, Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky district court ruled out to fine Kobolyev for UAH 1,700 (US$61) due to his failure to provide information on the said bonuses that was required by a parliamentarian.
