Agro-industrial complex forms 17% of Ukraine's GDP – Groysman

Ukrainian farmers' products are exported to 190 countries, the prime minister said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says about 17% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) is formed by the agro-industrial complex.

"When we talk about the agricultural sector, it is you who form 17% of GDP with your hands, intelligence, and technology," the prime minister said on November 15, when greeting the country's agrarians on their professional holiday.

The premier also added that the products of national agribusinesses are exported to as many as 190 countries.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine revised upwards its estimate of Ukraine's real GDP growth in the second quarter of 2018 (Q2) from 3.6% to 3.8% year-over-year, according to the operational data published in August.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) forecasts a 3.4% increase in Ukraine's GDP in 2018 amid 10.1% inflation.

The Ukrainian government expects economic growth at 3.2% in 2018 amid 9.9% inflation.

Ukraine's key lender, the International Monetary Fund, forecasts a 3.5% GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018 amid 9% inflation, while the World Bank predicts a 3.5% increase amid 10% inflation.
