As of November 17, 2018, gas reserves in the country's USFs were estimated at 16.901 bcm, which was 1.5% up from 16.65 bcm reported on November 17, 2017, the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz said.

In particular, 43.87 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas was withdrawn from storage facilities on November 19 alone.

Since early November 2018, Ukraine has imported 563.83 mcm of gas, including 339.5 mcm via Slovakia, 183.9 mcm via Hungary, and 40.5 mcm via Poland.

Domestic gas output over the period under review stood at 996.561 mcm, while gas transit shipments totaled 3.8 bcm, it said.

The country's USFs were filled by 54% as of November 17.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on November 7, 2018, Ukraine stopped injecting gas into the underground storage facilities and began pumping it out to ensure the smooth heating season.

By the start of the 2018-2019 heating season, Ukraine had accumulated record high natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities over the past six years.

UNIAN memo. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 underground gas storages (USFs) with a total storage capacity of about 31 bcm. The USFs are an integral part of Ukraine's gas supply system and gas transit through its territory. The company is also the operator of the main gas pipelines, through which natural gas is exported from the Russian Federation to the EU countries. Ukrtransgaz is wholly owned by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
