The certificate was issued at the headquarters of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Cologne, Germany, on December 17, the Ukrainian media outlet European Pravda wrote, referring to UkSATSE's press service.

UkSATSE has successfully passed the EASA audit, which included 18 EU regulations presented under the certification process, the press service said.

The EASA Certificate verifies that UkSATSE complies with EU norms and is the basis for obtaining authorization from the Slovak side to provide air traffic services in the part of Slovakia's airspace, which is necessary for maneuvering aircraft performing operations at Uzhgorod Airport under the Instrument Flight Rules.

Noteworthy, planes take off and arrive for landing at Uzhgorod Airport via the airspace of Slovakia (the border is at a distance of 100 meters from the end of a runway).

"For the first time in history, the EU is opening up its skies for a non-member state, specifically in a portion of Slovakian airspace," Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan wrote on Facebook.
