Ukraine sees agriculture output grow by almost 8% in 2018

Production of crops rose by 10.7% against 2017.

Agricultural output in Ukraine in 2018 rose by 7.8% from 2017, according to preliminary data.

In particular, agricultural enterprises increased production by 12.1% over the period under review, while private farmers saw their output grow by 2.2%, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

Production of crops in 2018 rose by 10.7% against 2017. Noteworthy, private farmers increased their crops output by 2.8%, while agri-businesses' production grew by 14.8%.

At the same time, livestock production increased by 0.3% over the period under review. In particular, livestock output at private farms declined by 1.9%, while agricultural enterprises saw a 2.8% increase in their production.

The report does not include information from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and Donbas, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's agricultural output dropped by 2.7% in 2017 against 2016.

In particular, agricultural enterprises reduced production by 3.9%, while private farmers' output shrank by 1.2%.
