Ukraine imports over 10 bcm of gas from Europe in Jan-Nov 2018

In late November 2015, the country refused to purchase natural gas from Russia's Gazprom.

Ukraine in January-November 2018 imported from European countries a total of 10.01 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth US$3.02 billion.

Ukraine received 3.68 billion cubic meters of gas worth $1.1 billion from traders registered in Switzerland, 3.15 billion cubic meters worth $929.3 million from Germany, 714.1 million cubic meters worth $213.4 million from Poland, 629.5 million cubic meters worth $186.2 million from the United Kingdom, 532.6 million cubic meters worth $169.8 million from Hungary, 294.8 million cubic meters worth $90.2 million from the Czech Republic, 142.7 million cubic meters worth $44.6 million from Luxembourg, and 89 million cubic meters worth $24 million from Slovakia, according to the State Statistics Service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in late November 2015 stopped purchasing natural gas from Russia's Gazprom. In general, the country doubled gas imports from Europe in 2015 from 2014, to 10.3 billion cubic meters, reducing by 56.5% the purchase of hydrocarbons from Russia.

In 2016, Ukraine imported 11.1 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe alone, gas imports in 2017 totaled 13.9 billion cubic meters. Natural gas shipments from abroad in 2017 were estimated at $3.228 billion.
